User Reviews about MySims Agents

I really enjoyed playing this game. My kids and I loved playing it together and trying to figure out the clues. My only complaint is that it stops too soon. It could use more missions. The main story seems to stop abruptly. Other than that, we really loved this game. It's very entertaining. -- Very Fun, but too short
Bought this for my 9 years old daughter and she is having so much fun with it. The parcel came nicely packed and on time -- my sims agents
This game is enjoyable for kids of all ages - the storyline and controls are simple enough for younger players, but the puzzles are tricky enough even for older players. The dialogue is also well-written and entertaining. Don't expect a ton of action - it's more about collecting clues and solving puzzles. We found this game to be really fun - so fun, in fact, that we finished it over the course of a few days. This was the main drawback. We found that the game ended far too quickly, and the ending itself was very unsatisfying. I don't think this game is really worth buying - it's almost easier to rent or borrow it and finish it in a week. -- Fun Game, Lame Ending
This was a Christmas gift for my son & he enjoyed it. He was so excited and I'm thankful for the great price from Amazon.com! -- My son's joy
There's just something about the Sims games that make them incredibly addicting. While I got this as a Christmas present from a sister who wasn't aware that the MySims games were aimed predominantly at younger players, I have to admit that I'm really loving the MySims games so far. Even with the simplistic gameplay, there's a spark to most of them that comes through to the older player.

MySims Agents brings back many of the characters you knew from the other games, only this time you're doing some investigative work rather than wielding a wand or other actions. The player not only has the ability to play straight through the game, but to also employ other characters as field agents & assign them various tasks that fit their unique abilities.

Now for the review. As with all of the MySims games, the play is obviously oriented towards younger player & there's very little for parents to be worried about content-wise. The only thing I'd warn people about is that there is far more reading in this game than there was in MySims Kingdom. The very young players or those who are still learning to read might get frustrated at the amount of talk that goes on in this game. My niece will have to wait a bit before playing this game. While she's very good at reading for her age group, she would get a little frustrated at the amount of text in the game. I also have to say that I was a bit irritated that there's not as much free will in this game. You can still move about at will & revisit most of the areas at any time during the gameplay, but for much of the game you'll have to follow a specific storyline. It was just a little irritating at times.

Even so, there's enough here to like. I liked the game's controls & despite it being insanely easy for me, I still enjoyed dressing my sim & going about my character's daily activities. It might not be something I'd have gone out of my way to get, but it is fun enough to keep playing through the end.

In the end, this game isn't going to appeal to everyone in the target age group, whether it is because of the lack of game action or the issues above. It will still appeal to many, but for the current price at the time of this review (in the thirty dollar range) I recommend that you rent this game rather than buying it. There's not a lot of replay value to this game, so you might want to save your money for the more replayable games. -- Will be fun for some, others will be put off by the lack of action
