User Reviews about Gardening Mama
I'm a fan of the Cooking Mama games, so when I saw this game coming out I ordered it. I think it is a lot of fun. In the game you get to plant things like: 1) roses, 2) fruits, 3) vegetables, and 4) different types of flowers. When you harvest the different types of fruits and vegetables, and when the flowers die you get to plant them all over again just like having a real garden. You also get to decorate the garden the way you want it.
The format in this game is almost like in the cooking mama games.
Overall I think this game is fun and people should buy it.
I also saw that Crafting Mama is coming out in October( I might want to get that because I took crafting class and though it was fun and because I like making things) -- Gardening Mama
I bought the game for my daughter. She really liked it and plays it a lot. She had played it before so we pretty much knew what she was getting. But it was what she expected. -- good
I bought cooking mama, though I have not had time to play it *yet*. I have, however, played it on iphones in the store and was immediately in love. I sprung for the DS version as I read that it is longer and a better value. That being said...
I was given Gardening Mama just last night and was thrilled. (I love plants as much as I am into cooking.)

I opened it up straight away and popped it into the DS. The first things I noticed were:
1. A color scheme that, unlike the cover image, was various shades of pinks and peach and yellow, which made menus and such hard to read. (The cover image shows bright, distinct colors. Lots of variance.) = headache
2. The menu options SHAKE (or dance, if you will). In an annoying way, like someone waving something under your nose and saying, "lookit! look it! look what i havvvvvvve!!! can you see it, can you see eeeeeet?" Added to the already difficult to read menu, the added feature of shaking.......... = HEADACHE
3. Still wanting to love this game, I ventured onward, figuring that once I got used to the game, I wouldn't actually need to read the menu. I would just know which region of the screen to tap. So I started a game. MOAR SHAKING MENU ITEMS AND INSTRUCTIONS. At this point I am getting downright irritated with whatever person on the design team that decided that this was a GOOD idea. Like I want to smack them, or force *them* to stare at the menus and such until they get the same headache I am getting. (Maybe this only affects people who are prone to getting motionsick. I don't know.)

As for the gameplay, I think it feels pretty similar to what you could expect from Cooking Mama, which is to say, you won't always know what you are expected to do but you eventually figure it out. There is a practice mode also which is great for that 'figuring it out' stage.
I think that this game has a lot of promise. Unfortunately, for some, that promise might include a tension headache. :(
